Smoke over the City

A smoke plume trapped by a cold thermocline, shows the aftermath of another Vied (Vehcular Improvised Explosive Device) attack on a Combat Outpost over the city of Ramadi Iraq

I lived in the mountains above Denver for years....so that is what you call it ....a thermocline! It hung there over the city..sort of brown...sort of yellow...sort of burned your eyes. But no fear of being blown up..just coughing a lot. Friendly thermocline you could call it. Definitely better than worrying about every move you make in Iraq. You have taught us a science lessson, Mr. James, along with the great photos of the horrors of war. Thanks.
