The Crusade Ends

Thus after five years in the Unholyland my crusade to bring peace, stabilty, religious tolerance and better driving skills is about to come to an end. At the end of the month I am moving to join the London Bureau.
The time will reflection will come later, probably on the plane as I take off and look at the land of humous and pita disaapearing under the wing and then I can reflect on what has happened and how my efforts as an unofficial Middle East Envoy have changed the course of history, NOT.
The question now raises as to how to change the name of The Unholyland News to reflect The land of Curry and Kebab, a new chapter is about to begin in my career and the challenges of life that this brings is exciting.
The blog continues and I get to drive back on the left side of the road.

Well congratulations! I'm thinking it will be easier for you to train for an Ironman in a peaceful place like London. Of course the weather will not be in your side but at least you won't be dodging bullets or landmines.

Good luck as you move to the next chapter in your life. You may not have changed history but you definitly enhanced my understanding of the world and I know I'm not alone. Thanks for sharing your time in the Unholyland with the rest of us.

Mal,

You will be missed here in the Holy Land! Good Luck in London-town. Don't loose any sleep over the fact that you were not able to bring peace to the middle-east. Lots of folks better than you and I have tried and were not successful so they also went to the fridge for a beer and sighed - oh well.....

We think London is a great place for you Mal! All those wonderful pubs! And let's face it..London needs a little help right now for peace as well. Fear you haven't escaped the "trouble makers" with you relocation. London news does need perking up though and hope that you and the eternally young Greg Palkot will have some adventures together around the area. Two of our favorite news people. Congratulations and how about naming your relocated blog after a famous London pub....We are excited about your blogs from the new digs.
Thanks for what you do. You may not bring peace to the world but you make war more understandable and your put a grin on our faces...which helps.
Your Fans and admirers,
Neatie & Annie

Mal,

I think blogger let's you change the name of your blog! not sure if the URL changes but Kebab News has a ring to it.

Congrats on the new job. I hope that this will give you more time to train and pursue the better things in life rather than wearing flak jackets and dodging missiles!

Rock on!
